JUDGING CRITERIA

• Overall effect/overall value
• Use of space
• First Impressions – visual appeal
• Design, balance and proportion
• Challenges and project difficulty
• Creativity to achieve solutions
• Special features

PHOTOS & WRITE-UPS
Only before and after photos are required, but you may choose to add an in-progress photo, as well as your project's floorplan if you deem it is necessary for the judge to see. There is a maximum of 12 photos total allowed per project (before/after), unless it is a ‘whole house' or 'addition' category entry in which we allow for 24 photos total (before/after) to be submitted. It is recommended that entrants take advantage of the maximum allowable photos in order for judges to see multiple views and angles of the project.

We expect that the photos submitted by the renovator will supplement their write up so that the judge is able to understand the complexity of the project. For the Judging Write Ups, we encourage that you include your client's goals, any challenges the project faced and how you overcame those challenges. It helps paint a well rounded picture of your project to the judges.
